In my role as Guest DT for Lavinia Stamps this month I have been working to the theme of ‘If you go down to the woods’, which is their theme for this month’s challenge. So yesterday I had this idea that I would cut out some circles in card and stamp them up with some of the Lavinia Stamps lovely creatures. The plan was simply to mount them spaced out across a card, possibly with a woodland scene as a background, and simply add a sentiment to make it a quick and easy card.
However, after I had die cut the circles from a gelli plate printed background sheet of card that I had already done, and then stamped them up with a selection of woodland creatures, the idea suddenly hit me! What if I could somehow place them in a circle and then add a little pointer in the centre that you could turn around to point at each creature? Mmmmm…. it got me thinking for sure.
It was then a learning process, with a few errors along the way, but I am rather chuffed with the result! I think a video tutorial or a step by step guide is probably the best route for demonstrating to you how I created this one, and I promise I shall do another one for that purpose now that I know what I’m doing!
To create this card I didn’t follow any tutorials, I just made it up as I went along, and that’s why I am feeling quite pleased with myself. It makes for a really fun card for a child or someone who is young at heart, and I believe we certainly need to encourage our young ones to spend more time in the woods! Perhaps this is great tool to encourage that?
I hope you like it!
I hope to be back soon with more creations, but you might like to know that I have sketched out a new tree painting which I am looking forward to giving a go soon. I will keep you posted once I have found a suitable canvas to start with.
