I was born in Caerphilly, South Wales in 1961 and from a very young age I attended a Welsh speaking school, despite English being our first language at home. School was a fun time in my life and I have to say I enjoyed my childhood years! Amongst my memories of education I remember enjoying art and recall winning prizes in competitions for creating posters and designing a Christmas card. However, I do remember my disappointment when teachers & careers advisors discouraged me from taking Art & Technical Drawing as subjects for examinations. My career then took a very different path, and in time, it also took a back seat to married life & bringing up my two lovely Sons.

Many years later at the age of 39 I started taking stock of my life and despite having a wonderful home life & two lovely boys I felt disappointed at my own personal achievements and saddened by the fact that I had no real reward or satisfaction from my working life. It was time to make big changes and I gave up my career and returned to full time education to study Art & Design, starting the very same week as my 40th Birthday! What a milestone in my life! This was just the beginning of a long creative journey for me and it was a real personal and emotional discovery.

During the past 7 years much of my collection of work has been dominated by my portraiture and the early series of paintings called "Emotions - Today's Woman" which proved to be a real commercial success. These bold, graphic & colourful portraits have been very popular amongst private & corporate collectors across the UK. My other collections, I am pleased to say, are now selling not just in the UK but in Europe, USA and as distant as the Far East."

Although this graphic style appears to be representative of much of my work, at my Studio in Bedfordshire where I now work full-time, I am surrounded by paintings in a diverse range of styles and subjects and I enjoy abstract work and photography too and there are just not enough hours in the day to do all that I want to do! I love colour, bold, strong colour and I like to create impact with many of my pieces. I often start with a plain blank white wall in mind and imagine the piece I am creating standing out so much that the viewer just has to utter the words "Wow!"
